When Will The Heaven Begin? by Ally Breedlove
I came across this book while straightening shelves in the library where I work. It grabbed a hold of my attention and went home with me that night. Once I got started reading this book I could not put it down! The words written and the story told in this book spoke to me so clearly and so personally it was as if the Lord Himself had tossed this book onto my lap and said, "Here, read this!"
It is quite the story. A story of a young man who fought the good fight of faith and won victoriously! A story of a young man who had a special assignment for his life which was fulfilled.
Really...it's a whole lot more then that.
The author is an excellent writer...and easy to read. I was quite shocked for such a young person to be such a good writer and I've no doubt that there will come further titles flowing from her pen.
I can't help but think that part of the reason for Ben's life and death and all of the in between was to launch Alley out into writing. God works like that!
I loved reading everything in this book. I feel close to the family and close to Ben and know that one day in heaven we will all meet.
This book is for everyone!
Reading it has changed my life and caused me to re-think my priorities.
I will never be the same again.
I wholly recommend you read this one as well and also do know that Ben Breedlove has his story on youtube so you may want to give that a look as well.
Lord bless!!!

Appointments with Heaven by Dr. Reggie Anderson
If you read only one book this year than make it this one! I am awarding this book as my "NUMBER ONE BOOK OF THE YEAR." I won't take it back after reading other books either.
I am not sure what I can even say that will give this book justice...words do not seem to describe it. That is usually how it goes when there is something of the Lord that has been revealed to you...it is hard to explain in words.
As I read this book I found myself in tears over and over. I was just that touched by knowing these words, the experiences which the author describes, are from the Lord.
I know because I have had my own experiences as well! I now look forward to future times with the Lord.
I have had death bed experiences as has the author.
I have been shown things as has the author..but in different ways.
At the end of this book I wept for some time and could not go to sleep.
I was touched deeply in a way that only God can do.
Do I recommend this book?????
Oh my...read it. You won't be sorry.
If this book does not witness to your spirit man and you are skeptical of it being the real deal...then it obviously is NOT for you...
It was/is for me and I will refer this book to many in the future.
Thanks for writing this book Dr Reggie Anderson!!! I was deeply touched and my life has changed!!! God bless you and your lovely family!!!
Hope to read more of what you write if you do write more...

When Kingdoms Clash by Cindy Trimm
I am always interested and drawn to things written from the Kingdom of God perspective. About ways that we, as believers, do not belong to this world but to the Kingdom of God. I am drawn to this first and foremost by the Holy Spirit. It helps me, helps us all, to see things in this light.
This book has seemed to “strike a match” in my spirit...so to speak...for through the reading of it the Lord has rekindled my faith as well as my prayer life. I feel as though I've been “re-ignited” which is just what I've been searching for in my heart and for what I've been seeking and praying to the Lord for.
Not a book to be taken lightly as in a light read. Not to be read in a public place if you are like me...one who cries when the Lord has spoken to me. You can only read this book in little increments or at least you SHOULD only read it this way as you will want to meditate upon what it was you read to get the most out of it.
I was touched by the Holy Spirit at every turn of this book and needed to step away from the reading in order to give my full attention to what all the Holy Spirit was wanting to say and do.
Did I say that Holy Spirit ministered to me through this book? Through this author?
A few points taken from this book which I share to give you a “taste” of the “flavor” of this book are and I quote:
“Chances are, whatever touches your heart in what you see day to day also touches the heart of God.”
“It's time for us to find our footing and start pushing back for the things Jesus came to this earth to deliver.”
“If we never realize the authority God has given us, the enemy has no reason to relinquish his.”
There are many other meaty truths which I believe will pack a powerful punch in the face of the enemy and give glory to God!
Thinking now...I may just highlight these points and keep this book around awhile...continue to meditate and apply what it is I learn.
Do I need to say that I recommend this book? I do, I truly do.

I Still Believe by Jeremy Camp
Previously before ordering and then reading this book I have already listened to and loved Jeremy Camp's music. I really looked forward then to hearing Jeremy's story. I had other new books to read which were on a stack in the order I intended to read them in as I am a reviewers. However, once Jeremy's book arrived in the mail and I had it in my hands and saw the front cover I laid aside all other books and started right in with this book, “I Still Believe.”
I was not let down. This book is written in a way which makes you feel you've been talking with Jeremy himself.
I love that this is an autobiography and is factual...not a made up sort of thing. This book and it's writings are real...the real deal.
I've no doubt the Lord anointed and appointed Jeremy to write this book and share his testimonies.
Revelation 12:11
King James Version (KJV)
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Having said that...this is a story about a Christian man who went through deep pain in his life all the while following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Such deep pain that I am just sure Jeremy never thought it would ever lighten. Yet the Lord, in His grace and mercy brought restoration to Jeremy's life and in turn healing.
I highly recommend this book. Not just for those who are suffering in any way with cancer but yet yes for those who are suffering in any way due to cancer but for all people in all walks of life.
There is much to be learned...many lessons of the Lord written here and shared.
There are already two people waiting to borrow this book from me when I have finished it.
I will come back here at a later point after I've listened to Jeremy's cd and review that as well.
Lord bless you!!!

Lord, I Give You This Day, a Devotional by Kay Arthur
This is the type of book I love to hold in my hands. It is of smaller size, a hardcover, pleasing colors to the eye, plus has a ribbon book mark to hold your place.
I at times find myself lacking time to be in the Word of God...devotionals such as this one helps me get through such times. Giving me bits and pieces of the Word to hold me off until I can get my Bible out.
Kay Arthur is known as one of America's best-known Bible teachers. Along with her husband, Jack, she is the co-CEO and cofounder of Precept Ministries International. She has authored more than 120 books and inductive studies.
This devotional has been adapted from one of her best-selling Lord series titled As Silver Refined.

Fasting Student Edition by Jentezen Franklin
Whenever I see Jentezen Franklin's name I immediately think of fasting and bringing in the New Year with fasting. It is my belief that this man of God has an anointing on his life, in part, to teach on fasting. I have no doubt he is also anointed for oh so much more but the subject of fasting is what I know him for.
The author has used many Biblical examples/testimonies for how those in that day fasted and the outcome. This is quite encouraging and inspiring.
Reading this book has encouraged me greatly but also exposed to me an area where I have been lacking in my spiritual walk/journey. It is apparent to me that I have back sliden in my busyness and have laid aside what used to be so much a part of my life..that being...fasting.
Jentezen Franklin teaches so much about fasting. I can see why this is called a “student edition.” Although I am middle aged and a grandmother I am still a student at heart and always hope to remain teachable. As such I have gleaned much from this book.
I highly recommend this book book and I highly recommend reading this or other books on the subject of fasting for that matter, while you are partaking in a fast.
I also recommend that you keep a pen and journal handy for the Lord will surely bless and reward you while on your fast with many divine revelations and even direction in your life for the upcoming days.
I intend to add this book that Jentezen Franklin has written to my collection of other books on fasting. This one is by far the best I have read or own.
Good time of the year to have this good read ready for the coming New Year...to prepare to fast the New Year in...this giving these first days of the year to our Lord.

"Grace" by Max Lucado
For some reason, of which I cannot now recall, I thought that this was going to be a book that I would not like. I actually thought it was going to be one of those dry sort of books that you had to force yourself to read. I was actually quite wrong!
I actually loved this book!
First off the subject of “Grace.” Such an important thing to get a good grasp of. Once you realize the Lord has bestowed His Grace upon you it seems it is instilled into your very heart. God's grace comes out on behalf of others along with His love following or as a result.
Before each chapter the author listed different Bible verses which pertain to that chapter as well as quotes such as, “The Christian is a man to whom something has happened.” by E.L Mascall. (I love scripture and I love quotes! Good to meditate upon and grow from!)
This book became my bedside companion until I was through reading it. I looked forward to going to bed each night having this to look forward to read. I found in reading this book before bed that I was putting my thoughts on something positive, something good...something GOD!
Parts of it made me cry...my heart softened and touched there in those deep, secret places...in no man's land. God reached me there through Max Lucado's words.
A wonderful book to read and would make a wonderful gift as well.
I recommend.

1000 Days The Ministry Of Christ by Jonathan Falwell
This is a book review written on the book “1000 Days” by Jonathan Falwell.
The author has the idea that all people are constantly on the search for inner peace. That all have restless hearts. He then goes on to share all the ways that people will try to fill their lives up with things and end up still not at that place of peace.
One great example he gives is of the couple who climb one mountain after another. They toil and work so hard to do all they can to reach the top of that one mountain only to find that once they reach the top that they do not have a feeling of satisfaction and must then go and find yet another mountain to climb. The author feels that they weren’t simply climbing mountains but that they were searching for inner peace.
It is hard not to take a look at how this has manifested in my own personal life. How many of the things I am doing are actually me searching for that place of inner peace?
If you are a Christian and are like me…if things seem to be in turmoil in your life you find you just cannot go even one more minute without having the peace of God back in your life. At times I, myself have to back track and look for the place where I seemed to of lost that peace of God and what now can I do to remedy this?
There is no better place to be then in the will of God resting in His peace…
The author goes on to share different aspects of the ministry of Jesus…hence the name of this book, “1000 Days” which speaks of the days that Jesus actually was out doing ministry while yet on this earth. Why did the author go from talking about our lack of inner peace and onto the days of Jesus ministering on the earth? Because the author feels and I quote:
“ But He did all these things to show us a way of life that is absolutely vital if we want to find rest for our inner longings. It’s not about salvation; it’s about truly becoming the God followers He intends us to be. It’s about finding His purpose for us and thus satisfaction for our inner restlessness. He knows that comes about as we become more like Him. So He’s showing us Himself in a journey of 1,000 days. As we plunge into those 1,000 days, listen to Him saying simply, ‘Watch Me.’”
I don’t know about you but I find the more I study about the days that Jesus ministered here while yet on the earth and about the lives of the disciples back in those days the more I hear Holy Spirit speaking to me through those examples. I can be right, smack dab in the middle of ministering to someone and one such example will come to mind. I will then know exactly what it is the Lord is speaking to me for the current situation.
I love how God works. I love that I am called to do His work. I love how the Holy Spirit illuminates His Word. I love how Holy Spirit gives revelation to those to write books and shed light on things for all the rest of us to chew on and glean from.
This book is written in a fashion that is easy to digest. The author uses many stories or testimonies to help shed some light on the point the is trying to get across. This has helped me to “get it.”
I recommend this book to you.

Better To Be Broken by Rick Huntress
This is a small, compact sort of book that is easy to read and hard to put down. One of my favorite types. A definite for the bedside to read before retiring.
This autobiography, “Better To Be Broken” written by Rick Huntress was written so well. The author shares his testimonies throughout the book of his experiences following an accident which left him wheel chair bound.
I believe he has made deep hearted times light and that this man has a ministry working with others who are also wheel chair bound.
Indeed, this man's writing is quite inspirational, encouraging, is sound biblically, and causes one to want to reach out for one's own calling in Christ Jesus!
Good for those who have had similar experiences and needing the encouragement but also good for those who, like myself, are needing encouragement through our own life’s challenges.
I highly recommend this book to all!
