Micah by Micah's Mom ~Dani Ramsey~
This is a book written by a mother about her son who ended up with cancer. The family are strong Christians and the way Micah lived his life, including during his battle with cancer, revealed this to the core.
Micah stated that he wasn't afraid but that his parents were freaking out. As a mother and grandmother I can sympathize with this.
God gave Micah the strength to endure. Micah was such a witness for God.
I had a hard time reading this book but at the same time had a hard time putting it down. It is the saddest book I have ever read. Dani Ramsey wrote it from her heart and with much pain. Every time I put the book down for the evening, I felt the pain. I wept. I felt that in my weeping I helped carry the burden of the pain the author bore.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Though there were misspellings in the book it did not take away from the message.
To God be the glory, both now and forever.
This book was written in such a way...that I was put in a state of grieving myself. I know the Lord has and is comforting the family and that they will all be re-united with Micah one day.

Lord, I Give You This Day, a Devotional by Kay Arthur
This is the type of book I love to hold in my hands. It is of smaller size, a hardcover, pleasing colors to the eye, plus has a ribbon book mark to hold your place.
I at times find myself lacking time to be in the Word of God...devotionals such as this one helps me get through such times. Giving me bits and pieces of the Word to hold me off until I can get my Bible out.
Kay Arthur is known as one of America's best-known Bible teachers. Along with her husband, Jack, she is the co-CEO and cofounder of Precept Ministries International. She has authored more than 120 books and inductive studies.
This devotional has been adapted from one of her best-selling Lord series titled As Silver Refined.

Dreams and Visions by Tom Doyle
This is an excellent book written about how God has given dreams and visions to different muslim people to not only bring them to the point of salvation, but also to use these dreams to connect them with others who have had the same or similar dreams.
I thought...what a perfect plan God has!
Only Muslims are allowed in certain parts of the country...others may be, and have been killed for entering in to these places. Only God could speak to Muslims using dreams and visions...and then use them for His purposes!
I can't even begin to tell you everything...it's a book you “must read.”
I already have a friend who is waiting for me to hand this book over for her to read.
Makes me think...if missionaries are unable to enter into certain parts of the country...no worries...for God has a plan.
What doors God has opened can no man shut!

Rules of Engagement by Derek Prince
This is a book written by an author, Derek Prince, who has since passed on. (1913-2003). He is the founder of Derek Prince Ministries International and has written more then sixty books. The author's intentions for his writings was for them to continue on...teaching others, even though he has left this earth. As a legacy, if you will.
I, for one, have been taught by this man's legacy.
This is not a book you can just quickly read through and be done with. This book has meaty material that must be slowed chewed and digested.
I found myself only able to read a few paragraphs before closing the book. I was left to ponder and meditate upon what it was I had just read.
At every turn I found myself being directed back to the Word. Once again...convicted that I need to spend more time with my nose there...in the Word of God...then in any other reading material.
The author teaches about so many subjects. I have my favorite subjects upon which he has touched on to my delight and which I read with great zest. (one of them on the gifts of the Holy Spirit)
I am inspired having just finished reading this at the end of a year and beginning of yet another. This is always such a good time to ponder and reflect on the past year and the changes you'd like yourself and God to make in you.
I recommend this book.
Actually...I have loved reading any and all the books I have received through “Chosen ”. So much so that I look for them now. I recommend this publishing company which is a division of Baker Publishing Group.

You Were Born For This by Bruce Wilkinson
For starters, let me say that I was pleasantly surprised at the content of this book as I began to indulge in it. I had somehow thought it was going to be a book about fulfilling one's calling/purpose...and you know...it is that...but not how I had thought.
Turned out the Lord was intending on changing my mind sets! (and yours!)
The author suggests that what we were born for is to...”Do what God wants done.” Plain and simple. And really...I believe this with my whole heart. (aren't our own plans just junk?)
Questions the author asks his reading audience which to me were/are thought provoking are:
*Why are these experiences of the miraculous so rare for most people?
*What if Heaven actually wanted you to experience them on a regular basis?
*What if ordinary people like you and me are invited to partner with God to deliver miracles to others?
Interesting!
Thoughts to ponder and then act upon!
This book is chock full of little nuggets throughout which I adore! Things to ponder and to meditate upon. Here are some examples:
“God did not place you on this earth to notice Him at work only once or twice in your whole life.”
“ When the Father has a miracle mission in mind, increasingly He will send you, one of His devoted team players.”
“ God intends for us to use our money to display His goodness and faithfulness in miraculous ways.”
The anointing of the Lord on the writing of this book is quite evident as I experienced the Holy Spirit hovering over me as I read...bringing even more illumination.
I am blessed to of gotten my hands on this book.
Not a book to be lightly read, but one to study and meditate upon.
I highly recommend it to you.

Fasting Student Edition by Jentezen Franklin
Whenever I see Jentezen Franklin's name I immediately think of fasting and bringing in the New Year with fasting. It is my belief that this man of God has an anointing on his life, in part, to teach on fasting. I have no doubt he is also anointed for oh so much more but the subject of fasting is what I know him for.
The author has used many Biblical examples/testimonies for how those in that day fasted and the outcome. This is quite encouraging and inspiring.
Reading this book has encouraged me greatly but also exposed to me an area where I have been lacking in my spiritual walk/journey. It is apparent to me that I have back sliden in my busyness and have laid aside what used to be so much a part of my life..that being...fasting.
Jentezen Franklin teaches so much about fasting. I can see why this is called a “student edition.” Although I am middle aged and a grandmother I am still a student at heart and always hope to remain teachable. As such I have gleaned much from this book.
I highly recommend this book book and I highly recommend reading this or other books on the subject of fasting for that matter, while you are partaking in a fast.
I also recommend that you keep a pen and journal handy for the Lord will surely bless and reward you while on your fast with many divine revelations and even direction in your life for the upcoming days.
I intend to add this book that Jentezen Franklin has written to my collection of other books on fasting. This one is by far the best I have read or own.
Good time of the year to have this good read ready for the coming New Year...to prepare to fast the New Year in...this giving these first days of the year to our Lord.

"Grace" by Max Lucado
For some reason, of which I cannot now recall, I thought that this was going to be a book that I would not like. I actually thought it was going to be one of those dry sort of books that you had to force yourself to read. I was actually quite wrong!
I actually loved this book!
First off the subject of “Grace.” Such an important thing to get a good grasp of. Once you realize the Lord has bestowed His Grace upon you it seems it is instilled into your very heart. God's grace comes out on behalf of others along with His love following or as a result.
Before each chapter the author listed different Bible verses which pertain to that chapter as well as quotes such as, “The Christian is a man to whom something has happened.” by E.L Mascall. (I love scripture and I love quotes! Good to meditate upon and grow from!)
This book became my bedside companion until I was through reading it. I looked forward to going to bed each night having this to look forward to read. I found in reading this book before bed that I was putting my thoughts on something positive, something good...something GOD!
Parts of it made me cry...my heart softened and touched there in those deep, secret places...in no man's land. God reached me there through Max Lucado's words.
A wonderful book to read and would make a wonderful gift as well.
I recommend.
