Victim of Grace by Robin Jones Gunn
The cover of this book is pretty but it really does not do it justice! I guess that is why they say, “You can't judge a book by it's cover.” So true, so true...especially in this case.
Now the contents....As I began to read it hit me with a big WOW!!! THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I mean, I really, really LOVE it!
I have always loved hearing people's testimonies as the Lord speaks to me so often through them. Robin Jones Gunn shares LOTS of her own personal testmonies.
Robin speaks from her heart.
There were so many things written in this book that reminded me so strongly of my own walk with the Lord. The little hints He gives which we feel is our own desires or imaginations until...they come true!
I found myself in tears quite often as I read this book. The Lord was showering me with His gift of love as I read.
I also LOVED how Robin has such a gift of illuminating bible stories! Such a bible teacher through her writing she is.
I kept this book by my side during the time I was reading it. The front cover is a bit bent because of this. Well loved you could say. I am a busy gal but I looked for every second I could to just “read a tad bit more.”
Robin...God has SO GIFTED you. I am SO BLESSED to have read this book of yours. The Lord taught me SO MUCH through your words. I also feel IGNITED to keep going and press on. I have the courage now to “stay the course.”
Thank you for the gift of this book you have written. Robin, you are so anointed to do this. You are helping all who are reading your books. I plan to read more of what you have written now.
Also, I am not one for reading fiction...but I may read yours...and the Lord may be changing my mind about fiction...after all...He is the best story teller there ever was.
I am, I am a changed person because of this book!
Glory be to our God!!!
God bless all reading this!

The Lifestyle Of A Prophet by James W Goll
This is the second book I have read written by James W. Goll. The first one I read was “The Seer.”
I loved “The Seer” and I love “The Lifestyle Of A Prophet” as well!
“The Seer” helped me understand the giftings the Lord had given me and “The Lifestyle Of a Prophet” is helping me to understand how to embrace my calling and to mature in these gifts.
I live in a rural area where I do not have communication with others who have these sort of gifts. It helps to read what someone like James W Goll has written as he is a spiritual father in this area.
Here is an example of one of the profound things I have taken note of in this book:
“The gift of prophecy is like Jesus standing up inside a person, waving His hand and saying, “I have something encouraging I want to bring to you, My people. I have a word of comfort. I have a word of edification. I have a word of learning.”
James W Goll's books are biblically based and sound teachings and chock full of his own testimonies he shares. I LOVE reading other's testimonies!
He understands me it seems. His writings and others like his help me and make me feel not so much alone in this prophetic calling.
God bless you James W Goll! I loved this book of yours and thank you for obeying the Lord in the writing/publishing of it! \o/
I highly recommend this book!!!

God's Covenant With You For Your Family by John Eckhardt
When first receiving this book in the mail and holding it in my hands I wondered how such a small paperback could have much in it. I was wrong! I told myself then, “Do not judge a book by it's cover!” This may be a small paperback but it's contents are rich and concentrated.
I have heard of John Eckhardt's book, “Prayers That Rout Demons” but to be honest, I haven't as yet read it. After reading this book I am considering the others now.
This book speaks mostly about God's covenant as the title suggests. It is not something I have studied before and highly recommend it to you. It will give you, as it has me, greater confidence in your relationship with our Lord.
Reading this book reminds me of my own bible study notes in a way. The author breaks things down and writes out descriptions of particular words. This brings a greater understanding.
I like how the author has taken the time to write out scripture and make it into personal prayers/declarations.
Example of this are:
“The word of the Lord is proven in my family. It is a shield to all of us who trust in Him.” (2 Samuel 22:31)
“The Lord heals the brokenhearted in my family and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
Once I got into this book I thought the small size of it was actually good! One could easily keep this in your purse, laptop bag or lunch cooler and take out when you have a few minutes.
I really needed this book. I didn't realize how much. I had forgotten about how powerful praying the scriptures and making declarations was!
I can see this book as well as the others John Eckhardt wrote as being something any Christian could be benefited by in their walk with our Lord. It has certainly been of help to me.
I recommend it highly!

Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic
This book was not what I thought it was going to be. Well part of it was in that...it is written by a man with disabilities who shares his testimonies...that part I was right on about. The rest? Oh my goodness! There is FAR MORE in this book then what I hoped and dreamed.
You see I started to read this book and was into the 3rd chapter when I KNEW I had to go back and start doing some underlining and highlighting so as not to lose the tidbits of wisdom which are literally EVERYWHERE on the pages of this book.
I can tell you that the author, Nick Vujicic, was anointed to write this book and I believe many more to come. It was as if it was written just for me!
I am not sure how the author does it, but he makes it seem as if he knows you, knows your struggles and challenges and then he hands out this seasoned advice. Yet, he's not that old! I kept asking myself, “How can this be? How can he know this much already?”
Because the Lord has given it to him is why!
There are pictures in the middle of the book of Nick when he was younger. These are quite endearing to me being a mother and grandmother myself.
I feel I need to address the author:
Nick, I feel as though I know you. You have helped me with all you shared. You can't possibly know what I am facing with my calling in the Lord Jesus Christ...but yet you have given me such sound and seasoned advice that I KNOW comes from the Lord. I feel as though I've had time with you. Reading what you have written has helped me to see that I must not be sitting around “waiting” for what I know I am called to do to just appear but that I must take some steps towards it. That I must not waste my time with frivolous things but only do what is in alignment with where I am going. You write in such a way that it is easy to digest. Not all that intellectual mumbo jumbo that some are in the habit of doing but yet it is evident that you are quite intelligent and knowledgable. Thank you so much! Here's a hug for you...(((((((NICK))))))) God bless you and keep it up!!!! I know there are challenges yet that lie ahead for you but you can rise to those challenges in Christ Jesus! I am glad I read your book and will suggest it to others as well. In the love of Christ!!!! Jean
Do I need to say that I wholly recommend this book? IF so....I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

You First, Me Second by Pam Erickson
I loved reading this book!
Before ordering this book, there were things happening in my life which brought to my attention that I was pretty selfish. This has been a troubling discovery for me. So when I saw this book's title I knew it was the one for me.
The author shares lots of testimonies about how others have gone out of their way to help others in need.
The author gives many ideas about how one can use their own gifts and talents to help others and it still be an enjoyable experience.
The author gives many ideas about ways in which one can encourage or help another whether it be a small or a big thing.
This has really got me thinking...which I need to be doing.
The writing is easy to digest and the chapters not too long that you can't read one before going to sleep.
“You have more to offer the world than you realize.”
There are 16 chapters in this book and each one holds several nuggets from which one can glean from.
I am inspired by this book. It has got me thinking that perhaps...I can really be able to do the things I believe the Lord is calling me to do. Perhaps.
I know one thing...reading this book has made a distinct difference in my life. It seems my eyes have been opened to allow the Lord to bring before me needs of others and ways to fill those needs. I am seeing opened doors for ministry. They may be small things...but to me these are huge and I am thankful for the author having written this book and for the opportunity to have read it.
Thank you Pam Erickson...thank you. You are making a difference in this world and it all matters!!! God bless you!!!

A Lasting Legacy by Doug Hagedorn
This book is a solid paperback. More like a manual you can refer back to time and time again. It has got me re-thinking how I have been living my life and caused me to make some changes.
Changes I am making now are goal setting in many areas of my life. For instance...my husband and I have been having a real hard time getting the get up and go to get our very old house scraped and painted. We know we want to do the work ourselves are are quite able to...that is not the issue. We have procrastinated for years. Now we are setting short and long term goals and for some reason...it has got us over the procrastination hump!
I am a grandparent now and not rearing any of my own children at this present time but think this book would really be a good one to have if you were still raising kids at home.
Lots of material to ponder and meditate upon. Not a quick read. Quite the opposite. A meaty book which is packed full of testimonies and teachings to learn from.
I fully recommend this book to you!
